The British Council implements many successful projects in the field of education, especially in the direction of continuous professional development of English language teachers. Thus, for 4 years, the British Council, in cooperation with the Ministry of Science and Education, as well as the Institute of Education, has been implementing a project called Online Teacher Community (OTC) to support the continuous professional development of English language teachers. Over 6,000 teachers from Baku and regional schools in Azerbaijan have participated in the program over the past 4 years. In 2026, the format of the program was slightly changed and adapted to students.
Students studying in the Foreign Language Teaching (English) specialty at the Faculty of Philology of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University successfully participated in this international program. Thus, 28 students of the faculty successfully completed the program organized by the British Council and received an Achievement Certificate. It should be noted that 20 of them are students of the 3rd and 8 of the 4th academic year.
The certificates were presented to the students by the rector of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Professor Jafar Jafarov, and the dean of the Faculty of Philology, Associate Professor Konul Hasanova. The event was also attended by the vice-rector for academic affairs of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Associate Professor Eldar Aslanov, the head of the International Relations Department, Gunay Maharramova, teachers and students.
This success of the students, in addition to making a significant contribution to their professional development and improving their knowledge and skills in English, is also a successful result of the university's activities in the field of international cooperation.
